Knocked-out tooth
Hold it by the crown — never the root. If you can’t gently seat it back in place, keep it in milk. Not water, not a tissue.

A cold compress against the outside of your cheek, twenty minutes on, twenty off. Don’t put heat on it.

Broken tooth
Rinse gently with warm salt water, save any pieces you can find, and bring them with you.

Can you really see me today?
We use our best endeavour to accommodate emergencies, including same-day appointments — the earlier in the day you call, the more we can do. Call first rather than walking in: it lets us prepare for you and tell you honestly when you’ll be seen.
How do I know it’s a real emergency?
Severe or sleep-breaking pain, a knocked-out or cracked tooth, swelling, bleeding, trauma from a knock — all worth a call. If you’re unsure, call anyway and we’ll tell you on the phone. One exception: swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, or bleeding you can’t control, belongs in a hospital emergency department, not a dental chair.
What will it cost?
Every emergency is different, so we won’t pretend there’s one price. The first visit is about finding the cause and settling the pain — and any treatment is costed and explained before it goes ahead, so there are no surprises.
Do I need to be an existing patient?
No. Emergency appointments are open to anyone.
What if it happens after hours?
We’re open 8am–5pm weekdays and 8am–2pm Saturdays. If it’s outside those hours and manageable, call us as soon as we open. If it’s severe — facial swelling spreading, trouble breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding — go to your nearest emergency department now.
